This study examines the activities of changemakers in Spain, the barriers they face, and the support they say they need to overcome them and seize the opportunities identified. Its aim is to better align research and funding with action and accelerate the transformation of food systems.
The analysis draws on a series of interviews with changemakers across the country. It forms part of a project supported by Wellcome Trust that seeks to better understand how the organisation can strengthen its impact on food systems in Europe and the UK. The series covers seven countries—the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands and Ireland—as well as the EU level, and explores how food systems in the EU and the UK could deliver better outcomes for climate, health and equity.
