In a context marked by the acceleration of the energy transition, the increasing geopolitical competence and the redefinition of the global value chains, the Spanish industry is infringing on a double reto: reinforcing its competitiveness in the long term and advancing its decision in its decarbonization process.
This Strategic Dialog has the objective of identifying key industries for the future economy of Spain and contributing to its location in the center of the public agenda. Through an overview based on data and evidence — including the analysis of intersectoral relationships, winter gas emissions, energy intensity, employment, new technological trends, regulation and commercial awareness —, the dialog It is possible to generate a view of the market where it concentrates industrial policy efforts, inversion, regulation and financing in recent years.
Final object of the dialogue: An analysis of the needs of the Spanish industry to improve its competitiveness and advance in climate neutrality in the future of the new financial framework of the European Union 2028-2034.
The meeting, divided in two sessions, will bring together representatives of the public administration, the private sector, the financial sector, social agents and civil society organizations, with the end of articulating a debate structured around the main strategic tensions: competition frente a descarbonización, strategic autonomy frente a discovery, job creation and industrial transformation.
But all of the diagnostics, this dialog aspires to translate into concrete directions for public action, identifying priority sectors, financial opportunities and policy options that allow to accelerate a competitive, resilient and aligned industrial transition with European climate objectives.
Format of the event
The Spanish industrial transition requires responding to four following instructions:
> Where are we? — What do we say about the value of the locks, the emissions, the dependencies and the system risks?
> What Regulatory frame do we need? — How can regulation be carried out with certainty in the long term, agility in administrative processes, guaranteeing fair competition conditions and strengthening industrial competitiveness during the transition?
> How do we finance it? — What financing instruments exist, where are the gaps, and how do we align public and private capital?
> How do we guarantee a just transition? — Employment, skills, territories, and social cohesion in the industrial transformation
