Summary

This report is part of the ‘Ideas for Action’ series and brings together the main conclusions of the working group promoted by alinnea throughout 2024 to identify the bottlenecks in the electric mobility sector and propose priority measures to accelerate the penetration of electric vehicles in Spain.

The report compiles the deliberations of this working group in the form of identified issues and proposed recommendations that are intended to serve as a roadmap for accelerating electric mobility in Spain. As a preliminary step, it provides a detailed analysis of the current situation of the electric car sector in Spain, including a diagnosis of its main challenges and opportunities, as well as a comprehensive assessment of the existing financial mechanisms to facilitate the acquisition and deployment of electric vehicles.

The participation of the entities does not necessarily imply their adherence, in the form of specific commitments, to the ideas presented in the final document.

The automotive sector is strategically important for the Spanish economy. Its transition to electrification poses challenges that go beyond simply renewing fleets.
