The transition to electric mobility depends on access to critical minerals through supply chains that are sustainable, secure, and socially just. As demand for lithium increases, it is essential to strengthen international cooperation to ensure transparency, reduce environmental impacts, and support industrial competitiveness throughout the battery value chain.
Building on alinnea’s previous work in the field of green industrialization in Latin America and its working groups on electric mobility, this dialogue seeks to strengthen cooperation between Chile and Spain to advance transparent and low-carbon lithium value chains.
By promoting productive complementarity, aligning regulatory frameworks and public policies, and identifying climate-aligned financing instruments, the initiative brings together public administrations, private actors, social partners, and international organizations to contribute to a just transition and shared industrial development.
