Building on alinnea’s previous work on transforming Spain’s agri-food chain and promoting climate-neutral food systems, the focus in 2026 shifts toward the role of finance as a key enabler of implementation. While clear recommendations and pathways have been identified in recent years, access to climate-aligned financing across the agri-food value chain remains fragmented and insufficiently connected to the sector’s real needs.
In this new phase, alinnea convenes public institutions, financial actors, and agri-food stakeholders to deepen the understanding of climate finance mechanisms and how they can better support decarbonization and climate resilience. The working group explores how public and private financing tools can be aligned with innovation, business transformation, and on-the-ground investment needs.
By strengthening coordination between policy, finance, and the agri-food sector, this working group aims to accelerate a resilient, competitive, and climate-aligned transition of Spain’s agri-food system.
